Gratitude walks changed my life.
On the power of combining nature, movement and your directed thoughts to bring about your desires.
Here’s one of my deepest secrets to living a delicious life.
I walk a lot and express gratitude while I’m doing it.
How did I find this out?
7 years ago I found myself in the middle of an island in Alaska- the full story for another day.
I was alone and I started to walk on the beach. I intuitively started to name the things around me and give my full attention to them.
I saw things like rocks and trees and the ocean and I said “wow I’m so grateful for all of these things! I looked at them and really felt them right then and there.
Right afterwards I also started to think about all the good things that were coming my way.
As I was vigorously walking, sharing my gratitude I also brought up visions of things that I wanted in the future.. husband, a business, a thriving community of women and people I could adventure with.. just to name a few.
The gratitude for the things that were in front of me and the visions and the words of the things I wanted were all swirling in one present symphony.
It all felt like I was truly casting a spell.
When I got back to my more everyday life I wanted to keep that feeling going so I did the same things around my neighborhood and on nature walks around town.
Then things started to just magically….happen.
Then I started inviting other people to do it with me.
Gratitude walks are a bridge of connection— potentiality and pure presence to the things that we are calling in.
And if you think gratitude is “woo woo” well, then this substack isn’t for you.
Because Im about to start talking a lot more about it- I can’t not talk about it because it’s changed my life and so many people I’ve worked with.
When people ask me what some of my secrets are.. this really is one of them.
When you get your blood pumping, arms moving, and the sun is on your face… it’s much easier to be in the present state of simply noticing what is.
And when you are in that state walking, that’s when you start saying the things and thinking the things and visualizing those dreams… that’s when you do it.
With a gratitude walk in nature you are casting a spell out into the universe, a new energetic signature.
Gratitude walks take you out of rumination and into possibility. Walks take us into our animal selves and our future selves at the same time. Walks get us into connection with the world and into creativity and aliveness.
So how does one do a gratitude walk? However you want to.
The key elements are to feel what you are grateful for while also tapping into feelings or sensations or images of the future.
This entire walk is about engaging expressions of gratitude, many from within you, and others from the outside world.
Then you can start to play like a child in that dreamlike wonder of what’s possible ahead of you.
What energy can you call in for the day?
What will you create 5 years from now?
How do you want to feel with your children when climbing a mountain? Where will your abundance grow?
What will it feel like when you finally pull out those pastels and start drawing plants (um, that’s me right now, that’s a dream coming true!)
Do it alone, do it with your kids, do it with your clients, your business partners, your teams… I’m telling you.. this is the juice.
Have you done a gratitude walk? Have you noticed that your current reality may have stemmed from walks in the past?
Stay walking my friends!
xoxo
In full alignment with this!!!! Gratitude walks are extraordinary!! I’ve been an avid walker for over 25 years and the past few years I’ve become much more aware of the mental tracks playing while walking. Many days I voice audio, dropping in my thoughts, working through a challenge etc which often shifts to a channeling session. Just this evening I came home with about 8 new ideas!! Always sending out my thank yous to nature & Source. ✨💚💃🙏🌲
Oooo I love this! I'm definitely going to try it out. Thanks for sharing!
